Professional Tool Reviews for Pros
At the 2021 FabTech conference, we saw the introduction of the DeWalt 20V Max XR Brushless 3-inch Cut Off Tool. It packs the metal cutting features of an angle grinder into a smaller, one-hand package.
The DeWalt 20V Max XR Brushless Cut Off Tool can cut through a variety of materials like metal, drywall, fiber cement, plastic, tile, and stone. With its brushless motor and ramped-up battery platform, it produces a max 550W output and a no-load speed of 20,000 rpm.
The DeWalt Brushless Cut Off Tool features a 3/8″ arbor and has a max cut capacity of 0.79″. It has both forward and reverse capabilities and comes with a removable dust shroud, adjustable shoe, and an AirLock connection that lets you attach any DeWalt dust extractor.
Additionally, it comes with a 7/16″ arbor adapter ring and three wheels: a bonded abrasive wheel, a diamond multi-material wheel, and a diamond tile wheel.
As the DeWalt 20V Max XR Brushless Cut Off Tool just premiered at the 2021 FabTech Conference, many of the details surrounding it still seem shrouded in mystery. One of those details is the price. While we know that DeWalt plans to sell this as a bare tool starting in Q4 2021, we haven’t been informed about a price that you can bank on.
We do know that, like DeWalt’s other cordless tools, this one includes a 3-year warranty, 1-year free service contract, and 90-day money-back guarantee. When it does become readily available, you’ll be able to find it anywhere DeWalt tools are sold.

In his free time, you might find Chris with his nose jammed in a book, or tearing out his remaining hair while watching Liverpool FC. He enjoys his faith, family, friends, and the Oxford comma.
