A WOMAN from Ireland was one of two people arrested after power tools were stolen in eight raids on outbuildings around Fordingbridge in one night.
The break-ins during the night of 2nd April targeted garages and sheds at locations including Newgrounds and Southampton Road in Godshill, and Moot Lane in Hale.
Investigations and high-visibility patrols amid a recent rise in outbuilding burglaries led police to identify two suspects just before 1pm on Saturday 7th May.
The man and woman were spotted in a vehicle at the junction of Chestnut Avenue and Stoneham Lane in Eastleigh.
A search resulted in a haul of power tools including an angle grinder, a chainsaw and a leaf blower being recovered from the vehicle, along with general tools and a toolbox.
A 65-year-old local man and a 24-year-old woman from Waterford in Ireland were both arrested on suspicion of burglary and handling stolen goods.
They were later released under investigation pending further enquiries.
People are urged to report suspicious activity to Hampshire officers online at bit.ly/3sHBYhz or by calling 101, but 999 should be dialled in emergencies.
