If Blue Monday is getting you down, why not get tooled up and do some DIY? There's nothing quite so cathartic as drilling big holes, mending broken furniture and creating new additions to your home using only your sweat, toil and a choice selection of cut-price power tools. You'll always find some of the best cordless drills among the bargains when sales events such as Black Friday and Cyber Monday come around, but as everyone knows, the very best prices are usually to be found at other times of the year. 

The tool deals at Amazon today are in two sections. You can get discounts on Bosch Professional tools, with everything from a tape measure to an angle grinder. Alternatively there's a page of deals on Einhell tools. These German-engineered tools are always good value and today there's extra money off as well.

Here are a few of the highlights from today for canny DIY fans on a budget…

Bosch Professional cordless screwdriver was £63, now £52 at Amazon (opens in new tab) A handy 17% discount on this Amazon exclusive set, which pairs a Bosch Go electric screwdriver with a 25-piece bit set, USB charging cable and an L-BOXX Mini for storing all your bits. This Red Dot design award winner has five torque settings and up to 360rpm top speed. It's also extremely light and compact. 

Bosch Professional Cordless Jigsaw was £229, now £136 at Amazon (opens in new tab) Averaging a 5-star rating from over 2,000 reviews this Pro jigsaw is 41% off today. Able to mitre cut up to 45º, this 18v tool has a stroke rate of 0-2,700 spm and maximum stroke height of 23mm. There's no battery included, but the jigsaw is compatible with Bosch's 18v Pro system. You do get a suitably rugged box to keep it in, however.

Einhell Cordless Orbital Sander was £53, now £34 at Amazon (opens in new tab) This highly satisfying orbital sander and grinder will smooth your path, with a £19 discount. Large grip surfaces with soft grips make it comfortable to work with, and a clever micro hook-and-loop fastener and clamp means it's quick and easy to change your abrasive paper. There's a dust bag as well as the option to connect a vacuum cleaner. No battery included; uses Einhell's standard 18v system.

Einhell Power X-Change Cordless Combi Drill was £76, now £61 at Amazon (opens in new tab) No tools roundup would be complete without a drill. This 3-in-1 cordless combi gets a 13% money off deal, making it extremely affordable, although you will need to either already have Einhell batteries and charger or buy separately. The brushless motor has two speed settings and a maximum torque of 60Nm so you can screw, drill and hammer to your heart's content.
